President William Ruto has officially launched the process of developing Kenya’s post-Vision 2030 national development agenda, setting the stage for the country’s next phase of economic and social transformation.
Speaking during a special State of the Nation Address at State House, Nairobi, the President announced that the formulation of the new long-term economic blueprint, Vision 2060, will begin with a nationwide public participation exercise through a National Conversation scheduled for Wednesday, August 12. The initiative will bring together stakeholders from across all sectors to help shape the country’s future development agenda.
Ruto highlighted the achievements made under Vision 2030 while acknowledging the challenges that remain, saying the next development blueprint should build on the country’s progress and respond to emerging national priorities.
The President urged Kenyans to actively participate in the process, describing it as a defining moment for the nation’s future.

He also called on political leaders to embrace collective responsibility by reducing political rhetoric and focusing on advancing Kenya’s long-term development agenda.
Ruto said national unity and inclusive participation will be critical in driving the successful implementation of Vision 2060 and ensuring the country achieves sustainable economic growth and shared prosperity.
