Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has suffered another political setback after the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) removed him from one of the Senate’s most influential oversight committees amid his continued criticism of the party leadership.
If the proposed changes submitted to the House Business Committee are approved, Sifuna will be removed from the County Public Accounts Committee, where he has served since his election to the Senate, and reassigned to the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Committee.

Under the proposed changes, Kilifi Senator and Senate Minority Leader Stewart Madzayo is set to take over Sifuna’s position in the County Public Accounts Committee
Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi has also been affected by the sweeping committee reshuffle. Osotsi was removed from the County Public Investments and Special Funds Committee following a vote of no confidence by members of the committee.
