Opposition leaders have condemned the arrest of Mukurweini MP John Kaguchia by officers from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), describing the move as politically motivated.
Lawyer Ndegwa Njiru said the MP was intercepted outside Citizen TV studios before being taken away by detectives.
“We are closely monitoring the situation and call for transparency and adherence to the rule of law,” said Ndegwa Njiru.
Authorities had not issued a detailed statement on the circumstances surrounding the arrest by the time of publication.
