Family Seeks Justice for Slain Bouncer
Family and friends gathered at the Nairobi Funeral Home to console Joyce Njoki, the mother of Eric Muiruri, the bouncer who was allegedly shot dead in Githurai 44 following an altercation involving a club manager.
Njoki claimed that after the shooting, two police officers allegedly attempted to frame her son instead of ensuring a fair investigation into the incident.
The family also raised concerns over the handling of Muiruri’s body after it was removed from the scene, saying the body returned muddy .
They further claimed that, two days after the incident, they had not been provided with an Occurrence Book (OB) number by officers at Githurai 44 Police Station, where the incident was reported.
Efforts by journalists to obtain a comment from police at Kasarani Sub-County Police Headquarters on the status of the investigations were unsuccessful by the time of publication.
