Linda Mwananchi Party Registration
The Linda Mwananchi Movement has stepped up efforts to transition from a grassroots political outfit into a fully registered political party ahead of the 2027 General Election.
A delegation led by the movement’s spokesperson and Suba South MP Caroli Omondi met with the Registrar of Political Parties, John Cox Lorionokou, to seek approval for the reservation of the movement’s proposed party name.
Speaking after the meeting, the delegation described the discussions as constructive, saying the Registrar had agreed to review the earlier decision to reject the application.
The renewed bid follows an earlier setback after the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties declined to reserve the name Linda Mwananchi Party of Kenya, arguing that it closely resembled names and slogans already reserved by existing political parties.
The movement says securing approval for its proposed name is a crucial step toward completing its registration as a political party and positioning itself to participate in the 2027 General Election.
