The 69th Annual Grammy Awards are set to take place on February 7, 2027, at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, marking a major new chapter for the music industry’s biggest awards ceremony.
The ceremony will be broadcast live across ABC, Disney+ and Hulu, marking the first time the Grammys will air on ABC since 1972.
The Recording Academy has also introduced five new categories for the 2027 ceremony as it seeks to reflect the changing music landscape.
The new categories are Best Asian Pop Music Performance, Best R&B Collaboration or Duo/Group Performance, Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance, Best Traditional Folk Album and Best Latin Song.
The Academy has also renamed Best Folk Album to Best Contemporary Folk Album and Best R&B Performance to Best R&B Solo Performance.
Several eligibility and voting rules have also been revised. Artists can now submit themselves for Best New Artist consideration up to four times, compared with the previous limit of three.
The minimum proportion of new recordings required for an album to qualify for Grammy consideration has also been reduced from 75 per cent to 66 per cent.
Internet-only releases are now eligible for consideration in the Best Album Notes and Best Historical Album categories, while songwriters and composers of new material on winning genre albums will receive recognition alongside producers and engineers.
The Recording Academy said the changes were introduced through its annual member-driven review of the Grammy Awards process.
These changes and expansions give even more people a place for their music to be respected, heard and evaluated,” Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said.
The 2027 Grammys will recognise recordings released between August 31, 2025, and August 28, 2026. The eligibility period has now closed, with nominations scheduled to be announced on November 16, 2026.
The ceremony will also mark the end of the Grammys’ long-running relationship with CBS, following the Recording Academy’s new broadcasting agreement with Disney that brings the awards to ABC, Disney+ and Hulu.
With new categories, revised eligibility rules and a new broadcast home, the 69th Grammy Awards are set to usher in a new era for one of the world’s most prominent music awards.
