Martha Karua condemns political goonism
People’s Liberation Party leader Martha Karua has called for an end to what she describes as political goonism and intimidation in the country.
Karua has accused the government of allowing political goons to infiltrate demonstrations and interfere with citizens exercising their constitutional rights.
Speaking amid heightened political activity ahead of the 2027 General Election, Karua urged the government to ensure that Kenyans are allowed to express their political views peacefully without fear of violence or intimidation.
She said political differences should be addressed through democratic processes and not through the use of violence.
Karua further called on security agencies to protect all Kenyans regardless of their political affiliations.
