Kenya wins three medals at World U20 Athletics Championship
Kenya made an impressive start to the World U20 Athletics Championships, winning three medals on the opening day to boost hopes of another successful campaign.
The medals came through strong performances by the country’s young athletes, underlining Kenya’s continued strength in middle- and long-distance running at the junior level.
“Our young athletes have shown great determination and discipline. This is an encouraging start, but we remain focused on the rest of the competition,” Athletics Kenya President Jackson Tuwei said
Kenya is aiming to finish among the leading nations on the medal table after producing several world-class athletes through its junior development system.
