The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) has opened applications for its Jielimishe Loan, offering up to KSh600,000 to salaried Kenyans seeking to pursue further education and professional development.
The loan programme is designed to support employed individuals undertaking postgraduate studies, professional certification courses and other approved training programmes, expanding HELB’s financing beyond university and college students.

The lender says the initiative aims to increase access to education financing for working professionals looking to upgrade their skills at a time when continuous learning and specialised training are becoming increasingly important in the job market.
The programme is expected to benefit thousands of salaried Kenyans by easing the financial burden associated with higher education and career advancement, while strengthening the country’s skilled workforce.
