Guardian Angel Harvests Huge Onions
Gospel musician Guardian Angel has turned heads after showing off a massive onion harvest from his Waingo Farm in Machakos County.
The 20-acre farm sits in a semi-arid area many thought would not produce much.
Further more the singer invested in a borehole, water towers, and drip irrigation, and the effort is paying off. Photos and videos shared online show heaps of bulb onions ready for market, sparking praise from fans.
According to Guardian Angel, Waingo Farm does not grow onions alone, he also cultivates maize, traditional vegetables like managu, rears chickens, and runs a fish pond stocked with azolla plants.
He ventured into farming through pig rearing before expanding into crops and livestock.
The onion harvest has drawn the most attention, with followers estimating it could earn millions if all the bulbs are sold.
Commenters on social media celebrated the hard work, with one writing, “If there is a man who dedicated to his work and he minds his business is Guardian”.
Working alongside his wife, Esther Musila, the artist has added another 20 acres to the project and built an agrovet store on the property.
He says farming gives him income security beyond music, his story is inspiring young Kenyans to try agribusiness, even in dry regions, by using irrigation and planning.
