FKF President Backs Harambee Stars Coach.
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) president Hussein Mohammed has reaffirmed the federation’s support for Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy despite criticism over the team’s recent performances and concerns surrounding its administration.

According to a report published by Pulse Sports Kenya on Monday, 12 October 2026, Mohammed said the federation remained committed to supporting its technical team while addressing challenges affecting the national side.
McCarthy has faced criticism following Harambee Stars’ struggles in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, increasing scrutiny of the team’s performance and management.

The FKF president also addressed concerns about the coach’s work permit, saying the necessary applications had been made and the process was being handled by the government.
The federation’s position indicates that it intends to continue backing McCarthy while working to resolve administrative challenges and improve the team’s performance.

The development comes as Harambee Stars seek to regain momentum, strengthen their competitiveness and restore confidence among Kenyan football supporters.
