UEFA Questions Infantino’s FIFA Leadership
UEFA has reportedly demanded answers from FIFA over president Gianni Infantino’s leadership, submitting 42 questions covering 12 topics and requesting responses by November 2, according to a Reuters report published on Tuesday.

The questions were reportedly contained in a letter sent by UEFA general secretary Theodore Theodoridis to FIFA secretary general Mattias Grafström. The move adds pressure on FIFA to address concerns about transparency, governance and decisions made under Infantino’s presidency.
According to Reuters, one of the main issues concerns the abandoned FIFA Forward Enterprise proposal, which sought to establish a company to manage FIFA’s commercial interests, including those linked to the World Cup.
The proposal reportedly included the possibility of selling a minority stake in the company to private investors. It attracted scrutiny from football officials concerned about the management of FIFA’s commercial rights and the transparency of its decision-making process.

UEFA has also raised questions about the FIFA Peace Prize, among other matters. The European governing body wants FIFA to provide explanations rather than leave the concerns unresolved until a later meeting.
Infantino has previously apologised to the FIFA Council over mistakes surrounding the abandoned commercial proposal and invited council members to submit questions ahead of its December 16 meeting. However, UEFA’s reported letter indicates that concerns remain despite those efforts.

Infantino is expected to seek another term as FIFA president in March 2027. The latest development could intensify scrutiny of his leadership as football officials seek greater accountability from the organisation responsible for governing the global game.
