Travis Barker Undergoes Surgery After Numbness
Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker has revealed that he recently underwent surgery after experiencing numbness in his arm, hand and fingers.
The 50-year-old musician shared the update on Instagram Stories after posting photos of himself in a hospital bed, which had sparked concern among fans. Barker said the numbness began after a performance he played last month.
According to Barker, a nerve test conducted on Monday showed that he needed a cubital tunnel release, a procedure used to relieve pressure on the ulnar nerve around the elbow. He said he chose to undergo the surgery early to ensure he can continue performing drums for many years.
Barker shared a hospital selfie with his wife, Kourtney Kardashian, who appeared beside him smiling. He also posted a photo with his daughter Alabama, saying his daughter and wife were by his side during his hospital stay.
The drummer reassured fans that he expects to recover within a few weeks. His latest health issue comes after previous injuries and medical emergencies that have affected him in recent years.
In 2023, Barker dislocated his left ring finger and tore ligaments while rehearsing with Blink-182 ahead of the band’s reunion tour. He also faced a serious health scare in 2022 when he was hospitalized with severe pancreatitis following an endoscopy.
Barker said he is grateful for the treatment he received during the 2022 hospitalization. He now hopes to make a full recovery from his latest surgery and return to performing without further complications.
