Vallejo is mourning after a morning of violence that left a community staple dead.
KTVU reports a family member has identified the victim of the fatal shooting on the 200 block of Marin Street as 32-year-old Devaughn McBride, a U.S. Postal worker.
Police found McBride with gunshot wounds around 8:23 a.m. Tuesday and he later died at the hospital.
The shooting was the second of two reported within about 20 minutes. The first happened around 8:03 a.m. near Springs Road and Castlewood Drive, about two-and-a-half miles away, where a man driving a gray Subaru was wounded and then crashed into a Toyota Camry.
He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.Police said the second shooting on Marin Street was about 2.5 miles from the first and occurred just minutes after an unrelated deadly crash at Sonoma and Solano.
Family describes McBride as hardworking and kind.
Vallejo Police have not yet confirmed if the shootings are connected. The investigation is ongoing.
