Murkomen warns against inciting violence
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has warned politicians against using language that could fuel violence ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Speaking during the launch of the Marakwet Full Bible in Tot, Elgeyo Marakwet County, Murkomen criticized opposition leaders, saying they lack a clear development agenda.
Murkomen said, “We know for sure that the opposition has no agenda apart from talking about Kasongo and Murkomen.”
He also cautioned politicians against inflammatory statements, saying, “‘Kuchunga kura’ is a coded expression for violence.”
The event was attended by Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang, Kericho Governor Erick Mutai, Dagoretti North MP Beatrice Elachi, and other leaders.
