Jubilee Party Deputy Leader Jeremiah Kioni has cautioned politicians seeking elective positions in the 2027 General Election against relying on political parties that are largely associated with specific regions.
Kioni says leaders with national ambitions should seek political platforms capable of attracting voters from different parts of the country rather than depending on parties whose influence is concentrated in particular regions.
He warned that politicians who limit themselves to regional political bases could struggle to expand their support beyond their traditional strongholds.
According to Kioni, the 2027 political contest is likely to be shaped by the ability of leaders and political parties to build broad national coalitions.
He has urged politicians to begin working on alliances that bring together different communities and regions, arguing that national leadership requires a national support base.
Kioni’s remarks come at a time when political parties are already positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election. Several leaders have been holding consultations and exploring possible alliances as they seek to consolidate their support.
The Jubilee official has also continued to push for greater cooperation among opposition forces, saying political differences should not prevent leaders from working together on issues affecting Kenyans.
With the 2027 elections drawing closer, parties are expected to intensify their grassroots mobilisation, recruitment and coalition-building efforts as politicians seek to establish themselves ahead of the polls.
