Disney has unveiled a packed lineup of new movies, television shows, theme-park attractions and entertainment experiences during its annual D23 fan event in Anaheim, California.
The three-day event, held from August 14 to 16, brought together Disney fans and showcased upcoming projects across Disney Animation, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and Disney Parks.
Major Movie Announcements
Among the biggest announcements was Frozen 3, which is scheduled to hit cinemas on November 24, 2027. Disney revealed that the film will introduce a new villain, a new love interest and a wedding.
The Bluey Movie will arrive in cinemas on August 6, 2027.
While The New Simpsons Movie is set for release in September 2027.
Marvel also offered fans a look at Avengers: Doomsday, which is scheduled for December 18.
While a new X-Men film was confirmed with a new cast including Adam Driver, Kit Connor, Christopher Abbott and Samara Weaving.
Other major projects announced include Zootopia 3, Incredibles 3, Coco 2, Star Wars: Starfighter, Lilo & Stitch 2, Tangled and Princess Diaries 3.
Pixar also announced Ghost Street, its first ghost-themed film, scheduled for spring 2028.
New Theme-Park Experiences
Disney also revealed several new attractions across its theme parks.
Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World will get Villains Land, featuring attractions inspired by Disney villains including Maleficent and the Evil Queen.
Other upcoming attractions include Monstropolis at Hollywood Studios.
Antonio’s Fiesta de Encanto at Animal Kingdom
And Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent.
Tokyo Disneyland will introduce Space Mountain: Earthrise and Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue, based on Wreck-It Ralph.
Disneyland Paris will also introduce a new audio-animatronic version of Scar in its Lion King attraction.
Disney+ and Television
Disney announced several new and returning shows for Disney+.
Ahsoka Season 2 will premiere on January 20, 2027.
While Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Season 2 is scheduled for January 2027.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 3 will arrive on November 20.
While VisionQuest, starring Paul Bettany, premieres October 14.
The company also announced a three-part Oswald the Lucky Rabbit miniseries and a new animated Kingdom Hearts series coming to Disney Channel and Disney+.
Disney’s entertainment expansion will also extend to the stage, with The Greatest Showman set to open at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane in spring 2027.
With dozens of projects announced across film, television and theme parks, D23 has given Disney fans a glimpse of the company’s ambitious entertainment slate for the coming years.
