Spider-Man: Brand New Day has reached a major milestone after becoming only the eighth film in history to surpass $2 billion in global box-office earnings.
The latest Spider-Man adventure, starring Tom Holland in his fourth solo outing as the superhero, crossed the $2 billion mark just three weeks after its release. The film has earned about $785 million in the United States and $1.23 billion from international markets.
The movie has also continued Spider-Man’s strong box-office record, having previously become the second-fastest film to reach $1 billion worldwide.
With total earnings of approximately $2.022 billion, Brand New Day has now become the second-fastest movie to reach $2 billion. It trails Avengers: Endgame, which achieved the milestone in just 11 days after its release.
The performance further strengthens Tom Holland’s position as one of the most successful actors to portray Spider-Man on the big screen. The film’s strong international performance has been a major factor in its rapid rise.
