Racing found the net twice through Maguette Gueye and Yassir Zabiri, but their goals only provided temporary resistance against a Barcelona side that controlled the match for long periods.
Cancelo opened the scoring after eight minutes with a long-range strike that went in off the crossbar.
Raphinha doubled Barcelona’s advantage from the penalty spot in the 25th minute.
Racing responded five minutes later when Gueye pulled a goal back, briefly giving the visitors hope of making the contest competitive.
Barcelona restored its two-goal cushion before half-time when Villalibre scored an own goal.
Raphinha then struck again in the 42nd minute to give the hosts a 4–1 advantage at the interval.
Racing reduced the deficit again in the second half through Zabiri, but Barcelona immediately regained control.
Raphinha completed his hat-trick from another penalty in the 67th minute before Gabriel Jesus added Barcelona’s sixth in the 79th.
Yamal completed the scoring in the 89th minute.
The result gave Hansi Flick a seventh consecutive competitive victory to begin the season, a record for a Barcelona manager.
Barcelona also moved to 18 points at the top of LaLiga, three points clear of Real Madrid.

Jonathan David opened the scoring in the 23rd minute in his first start for the Madrid club.
The Canadian striker had already scored against Real Sociedad earlier in the week and continued his strong beginning in Spain.
Atlético maintained its pressure after the break and doubled its advantage through Lee Kang-In in the 53rd minute.
Robin Le Normand added a third nine minutes later before Álex Baena completed the scoring in the 81st minute.
The four-goal victory was Atlético’s most complete performance of the season to that point and moved Diego Simeone’s side into third place in the early LaLiga standings.
Osasuna struggled to create a sustained response as Atlético combined its attacking threat with a disciplined defensive display.
The result also provided David with additional momentum ahead of Atlético’s upcoming Madrid derby against Real Madrid.
Deportivo La Coruña 0–1 Sevilla.
Sevilla secured a narrow 1–0 victory away to Deportivo La Coruña at Riazor.
The decisive goal came in the 51st minute when Miguel Sierra found the net, giving Sevilla the lead shortly after the restart.
Deportivo attempted to respond but could not find an equaliser, meaning Sevilla left Galicia with all three points.
The result was particularly significant for Deportivo, who suffered their first defeat of the season.
Sevilla, meanwhile, continued its positive start by securing victory in a match decided by a single goal.
Levante vs Athletic Club postponed.
The scheduled meeting between Levante and Athletic Club did not take place after the match was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.
The postponement meant that only three LaLiga matches were completed on Wednesday, with the fixture requiring a new date.

The biggest surprise in England came at Old Trafford, where Brighton came from two goals behind to defeat Manchester United 3–2 and reach the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
Manchester United established a two-goal advantage, putting the home side in a strong position to progress.
Brighton, however, produced a remarkable second-half response.
The visitors scored three times to overturn the deficit and complete one of the night’s most dramatic comebacks.
The result ended Manchester United’s involvement in the competition and sent Brighton through to the fourth round.
The match was the final Wednesday fixture in the third-round schedule and was followed by the fourth-round draw.
Coventry City 1–3 Aston Villa.
Aston Villa secured their place in the fourth round with a 3–1 victory away to Coventry City.
Villa established control during the contest and eventually scored three times to overcome their Championship opponents.
Coventry managed one goal but could not produce the comeback required to keep their cup campaign alive.
