While celebrities are often accused of using their fame only for red carpets, music and million-dollar lifestyles, Ariana Grande is putting her name,and her new foundation,behind children caught in the devastating humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The pop superstar has been recognised for supporting children and families in Gaza through an emergency grant from her newly launched Brighter Days Ahead Foundation to humanitarian organisation Save the Children UK.
The value of the grant has not been disclosed, but Save the Children UK confirmed that the funds will go towards its humanitarian response for children and families affected by the crisis.
According to the organisation, its programmes, supported by donations and grants such as Grande’s, have reached 183,459 children with cash assistance, 83,000 with health and nutrition support and 11,357 through emergency education programmes.
The figures highlight the enormous scale of the humanitarian crisis facing children in Gaza, where families have endured displacement, insecurity and severe shortages of essential services.
Grande launched the Brighter Days Ahead Foundation in 2026 with a mission to support vulnerable communities and organisations providing protection, care and resources to people facing crises.
The foundation’s Emergency Support Fund is among its initiatives aimed at providing rapid assistance during emergencies. Its first round of grants has included support for organisations working with vulnerable communities and children, including Save the Children UK and the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.
Grande’s support for Palestinians also predates the foundation. She has previously backed humanitarian efforts connected to Palestinian children, including support for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.
Save the Children publicly thanked Grande for selecting the organisation for the emergency grant, saying the money would go towards helping children and families in Gaza.
The recognition has also reignited debate over the role of celebrities in international conflicts, with supporters praising Grande for using her platform and resources to support civilians, while others argue that celebrity humanitarianism can draw attention away from the political causes behind humanitarian crises.
For Grande, however, the message from her foundation is clear: fame can be used for more than entertainment.
And as Gaza’s children continue to bear the consequences of war, one question remains controversial: how much difference can celebrity philanthropy make when the humanitarian crisis itself continues?
