14 Year Old Girl Alleges Father Raped Her, Mother Filmed Incident in Gujarat
A 14-year-old girl in Gujarat’s Kutch district has accused her father of repeatedly sexually assaulting her at their home near Anjar, while her mother allegedly recorded parts of the abuse on a mobile phone.
Police arrested both parents on Friday night after the girl managed to access a phone and contact India’s emergency number 112 for help. She was subsequently taken to Anjar police station, where she gave police an account of the alleged abuse.
According to police and reports based on the girl’s complaint, the alleged abuse began after her parents discovered that she had been speaking to a male friend on the phone. Her father allegedly became angry, assaulted her and restricted her movement inside the family home.
The girl told investigators that the alleged sexual assaults occurred on several occasions between September and early October. Police also allege that her mother was present during some of the incidents and used a mobile phone to take photographs and record video.
Police said the teenager had attempted to seek help several days before her eventual rescue. She reportedly contacted the police control room, but officers were unable to locate the family after her father allegedly switched off the phone.
On another occasion, she reportedly reached a relative’s home and used a phone to contact the emergency service.Anjar Police Inspector H. A. Jadeja said the girl was eventually brought to the police station after successfully contacting 112.
Investigators recovered a mobile phone from the family and said it contained photographs and video that could be relevant to the investigation. The family, originally from Uttar Pradesh, has reportedly lived in Gujarat for about six years and worked as labourers. The girl is understood to be the eldest of four daughters.
Following the complaint, she was placed under official care and protection while police continued their investigation. Police have registered a case under India’s Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Both parents remain accused in the case, and the allegations will be subject to the ongoing investigation and legal process. Sources: India Today, Times of India and other reports published October 4–6, 2026.
