Hannah and Shane Burcaw, known online as Squirmy & Grubs, are clarifying how much of their first child’s life they plan to share on social media after facing criticism over their plans to create parenting content.

The couple, who have been together for more than a decade, announced their pregnancy in September 2026. Shane was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy Type 2 and uses a wheelchair, while Hannah is his wife and full-time caregiver.

Their relationship has attracted millions of followers through their social media content about life as an interabled couple.Following the pregnancy announcement, the couple received questions and criticism about whether their baby would become part of their online content.

Shane explained in a YouTube video that they deliberately waited until Hannah was 20 weeks pregnant before making the announcement.Shane said the decision was based on the baby’s right to privacy, noting that the child cannot make decisions about their online presence before birth. The couple said they want to share aspects of their parenting experience while avoiding exposing their child to unnecessary public attention.

Speaking to People, Hannah said they are excited to document their parenting journey and show how they navigate raising a child as an interabled couple. However, she stressed that protecting the baby’s privacy remains their main priority. The couple’s clarification highlights the growing debate among family content creators about children’s privacy online.

Hannah and Shane said they understand the risks of sharing personal family details on the internet and intend to set boundaries around what their child will eventually appear in.
