Gang Raids Ex-Police Boss Home

Armed men raided the Kitengela home of a former senior police officer on Wednesday night, leaving residents in shock and Sh1,000 notes scattered across the estate.
According to witnesses, the gang stormed the house in Avenue Estate just after midnight.
They broke the main gate, overpowered guards, and ransacked rooms before fleeing with an unknown amount of cash and valuables.
In a bizarre twist, the robbers left a trail of money behind them. Sh1,000 notes were strewn along the estate pathway.
At the main gate, they reportedly threw banknotes at onlookers and guards in an apparent attempt to distract them and slow any pursuit.
“The men were armed and speaking in low tones. They didn’t waste time, they grabbed what they could and ran a neighbor said. “By the time we realized what was happening, money was already flying in the air.”
Police from Kitengela Station arrived minutes later and cordoned off the area.
Officers collected the scattered notes as exhibits and began combing nearby bushes for suspects.
The former police boss was not home during the attack, family members said no one was hurt, but the invasion has left them shaken.
Kajiado County police commander confirmed the incident and said investigations are ongoing,he urged residents with CCTV footage to come forward.
The robbery adds to growing concern over insecurity in Kitengela’s gated estates, where residents say they now fear night attacks despite heavy private security.
